A Study of Global Mobility and the Dynamics of a Fictional Urbanism' documents the Cape Verdic community in Rotterdam, especially the phenomenon of the ‘belhuis’ (calling center) in Rotterdam. Through charts, photographs and text, the book tracees and explores the different characters of these spaces used mostly by immigrants to call home. The centers often visually mimic homeland characteristics of those running it. Printed on glossy paper, the book has the appearance of a hybrid between a scientific publication and a magazine or travel brochure, evoking many of the atmospheres present within the call centers themselves.
