Each section is introduced with a map, an aerial view of the area and floor plans of the houses there. All plans are shown at the same scale so as to allow comparisons between the different living environments presented. Diagrammatic drawings then illustrate the information graphically to offer clear comparisons, creating a system that makes navigating information easy. To add to the idea that this is a pocket book manual, horizontal photos are given a full page, encouraging readers to turn it around and really use it as the practical object it was designed to be.
