The Metropolitan World Atlas documents a total of 101 metropolises and analyses them through a combination of same-scale ground plans and statistics, with categories ranging from population density to data traffic to air pollution.
In order for readers to understand the information intuitively, a system of orange dots is introduced, varying in size to visually represent how a given city compares to others in any category. World data maps of these statistics offer additional visual comparisons. The book is printed in five colors, including metallic blue, dayglo orange, and a tinted varnish.
